FORSTER FILM FESTIVAL3rd, 4th and 5th October, 2009Forster Film Festival is an annual event now in its third year. "During the past two years over 140 films have been received and 25 were presented to viewing audiences of over 2000," Festival Director, Greg Smith said. "We are now calling for entries for the 2009 Forster Film Festival." Each year Forster Film Festival has showcased an inspired program of entertaining, thought-provoking, and life-affirming short films. Emphasizing creativity, originality, and entertainment value over large budgets, FFF evens the playing field for short filmmakers. Prizes for winning films are three thousand dollars in cash prizes and two thousand dollars in goods and services, press opportunities, plus exposure at the Festival, on awards night, and on the FFF website. Richard Holloway, Regional Arts Development Officer, contends that Forster Film Festival "has the potential to become one of the premier film festivals in regional Australia." Entries close August 28. LOCATIONSparkling lakes and gorgeous beaches served as the backdrop for this exciting event, located in a prime Australian vacation destination.Strongly supported by the local media, FFF is a lovely showcase for short films, and for Forster itself, which is widely known for its lakes, beaches and natural beauty. Sue Milliken, former Chair of the Australian Film Commission and FFF alumna deems the Festival "a fantastic event in a spectacular location." |
